The History tab shows a log of every action your unit has taken on a storefront reservation this season. You can see when the reservation was made, which Scouts signed up for or were removed from shifts, and who took each action.

Who can view reservation history

Reservation history is available to leaders only:

  • Unit leaders can view history for any reservation that is currently reserved for their unit.

  • Council and district leaders can view history after drilling into the unit.

Scouts cannot view reservation history.

History is only available while the reservation is reserved for your unit, and it only shows actions taken within your unit. Every reservation's history includes at least one entry: the Reserved action that added it to your unit.

How to view a reservation's history

  1. Go to the Storefronts page.

  2. Scroll to the date of the reservation and click the date.

  3. Click the reservation.

  4. Click the History tab.

Understanding the History table

Each row in the table is one action. The table has four columns:

  • When: The date and time the action was taken.

  • Action: What happened. See the action types below.

  • By: The name of the person who took the action, or System if the system took the action automatically.

  • Scout: The Scout the action applied to. This column is only filled in for shift sign-ups and shift removals.

Action types

  • Reserved: The storefront was reserved for your unit.

  • Released: The reservation was released.

  • Auto-released: The reservation was released automatically by Trail's End.

  • Shift sign-up: A Scout was signed up for a shift. If a leader signed the Scout up, By shows the leader's name and Scout shows the Scout's name.

  • Shift removal: A Scout was removed from a shift. This includes a Scout withdrawing from a shift and a leader marking a Scout as a no-show.

  • Split: A leader released some hours from the reservation.

The History tab shows that an action happened, but not every detail. For example, it does not show which shift a Scout signed up for or which hours were released in a split. To see current shift details, check the Shifts tab.

Searching, filtering, and sorting

  • Search: Type a name or action to find matching entries. Search does not include dates, so you cannot search by a full or partial date.

  • Action: Click Action to filter the table by one or more action types. The list only includes action types that exist on this reservation, and the number next to each one shows how many entries of that type there are.

  • View: Click View to show or hide columns.

  • Sort: Click a column heading to sort the table by that column.

The History table is read-only. Entries cannot be edited, deleted, or clicked for more detail.

Common questions

Why does the same Scout appear more than once at the same time?

Each shift sign-up is logged as its own entry. If a Scout signed up for more than one shift on the same reservation, you'll see one Shift sign-up entry per shift. Check the Shifts tab to see which shifts the Scout is signed up for.

Why don't I see actions from before my unit reserved the storefront?

History only shows actions taken within your unit. If another unit held the reservation before your unit and released it, none of that unit's actions appear in your history.

Can I see history for a reservation my unit no longer holds?

No. History is only available for reservations currently reserved for your unit.
