How Do I Release a Trail’s End–Reserved Storefront?
You can release an entire storefront reservation from the Leader Portal.
Steps
Go to Manage Storefronts™.
Select the appropriate view/tab (e.g., Working Today, Upcoming, or All Reservations).
Locate the storefront in your list of reserved storefronts.
Click Release in the lower right corner.
⚠️ Important: Once released, the storefront becomes available to other units and cannot be recovered unless you reserve it again.
Can I Release Only One Shift Within a Reservation?
It is not possible to release part of a reservation (for example, only one or two shifts).
You can only release the entire reservation block.
Individual shifts can be edited or removed, but the storefront itself cannot be partially released.
If you'd like to release 4 hours or more of a reservation, please contact [email protected]
Auto Release of Trail’s End Reservations
New Storefronts™ Feature
Trail’s End has introduced an automatic release feature to ensure storefront locations are actively used and available to units that need them.
This feature:
Reduces unused reservations.
Saves leaders time.
Creates predictable opportunities for units to claim additional storefronts.
How It Works
Step 1: Units Reserve Storefronts
Unit leaders reserve storefront locations as usual through the Leader Portal.
Step 2: Scouts Sign Up for Shifts
After a storefront is reserved:
Scouts can sign up for shifts based on the storefront settings created by the leader.
Step 3: Scout Notifications
Scouts will receive email reminders about upcoming shifts, encouraging them to sign up.
Step 4: Leader Notifications
If no Scouts are signed up:
Leaders will receive a notification when a reservation has no Scouts signed up for an upcoming weekend.
On the Manage Storefronts™ page, reservations will be flagged as:
“No Scouts”, or
“No Scouts: Auto-Releasing in X Days”
Automatic Release Rule (Important Timing)
If no Scouts are signed up by 8:00 PM ET on Thursday, any reservations scheduled for:
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
will be automatically released.
Once released:
The storefront becomes available to other units.
Leaders will receive a notification.
What Happens to Inventory and Cash?
If a reservation is auto-released:
Assigned inventory is returned to the unit.
Starting cash assigned to the reservation is removed.
When to Check for Newly Available Storefronts
Units looking for additional storefront opportunities should check:
🕗 Thursdays at 8:00 PM ET
This is when auto-released reservations become available.
Key Benefits of Auto-Release
Ensures storefront locations are actively used by Scouts.
Creates a predictable system for all units to access additional opportunities.
Reduces unused reservations.
Keeps leaders informed with timely notifications.
Eliminates the need for manual releasing of unused reservations.
