How can I determine the commission earned per Scout?
Commission is paid to the unit, and it is up to the unit's committee what is done with that commission.
If your unit has opted to credit individual Scouts for their contribution to the fundraiser, below are the steps to determine the commission earned by each Scout.
Step 1: Determine your commission rate
Go to Finances
Click % Council/Unit Commission Agreement in the upper right
Choose between Step A, B, or C below depending on your unit's situation.
Step 2a: If your online commission rate is the same as your traditional (wagon/storefront) commission rate:
Use Total Sales from the Scouts page
Apply the commission rate to the total sales for each Scout.
Step 2b: If your online commission rate is different from your traditional (wagon/storefront) commission rate AND your unit DOES NOT have a Storefront split, (Scouts receive credit for the sales that they record):
Download the Sales Transaction Report.
Sort, Filter, and/or Pivot to get the sum of ONLINE sales for each Scout.
Apply your ONLINE commission rate to the ONLINE sales total for each Scout.
Sort, Filter, and/or Pivot to get the sum of TRADITIONAL sales for each Scout.
Apply the TRADITIONAL commission rate to the TRADITIONAL sales for each Scout.
Add your ONLINE commission for each Scout to the TRADITIONAL commission for each Scout to get TOTAL commission earned.
Step 2C: If your online commission rate is different from your traditional (wagon/storefront) commission rate AND your unit DOES have a Storefront split:
Download the Sales Transaction Report.
Sort, Filter, and/or Pivot to get the sum of ONLINE sales for each Scout.
Apply your ONLINE commission rate to the ONLINE sales total for each Scout.
Download the TOTAL Sales from the Scouts page, (this total includes the storefront split method).
Subtract the total ONLINE sales that you found above from the TOTAL sales from your dashboard.
The remainder is the TRADITIONAL sales (wagon/storefront).
Apply the TRADITIONAL commission rate to the TRADITIONAL sales for each Scout.
Add your ONLINE commission for each Scout to the TRADITIONAL commission for each Scout to get TOTAL commission earned.
