This guide helps you interpret the data in your weekly email so you can make informed decisions about your inventory and storefront operations.

General Questions

Q: Why am I receiving this email?

A: This email is designed to help you manage your inventory levels efficiently. It tracks your current stock, pending orders, and the sales performance of your Scouts to ensure you don’t run out of product during critical storefront shifts.

Q: How often is this data updated?

A: The data is generated and sent weekly. The "Data current as of" timestamp at the top of your email reflects the most recent system update.

Q: How accurate is this information?

A: These are automated projections. While they are based on your specific sales

history and scheduled hours, things like weather or unexpected foot traffic can impact individual shift performance. Always ensure you have popcorn for Scouts to hit their goals. Units are ultimately responsible for ordering decisions.

Interpreting Your Data

Q: How does the system calculate my "Projected Sales"?

A: We calculate your projected sales using the following data points:

  • Location Foot Traffic

  • Unit Location History

  • Council Location History

Q: What does the "Recommended Next Step" mean?

A: This is the action you should take to best support your Unit’s sale.

  • If you see an URGENT warning, it means you will likely run out of popcorn in the next 7 days.

Q: What is the difference between "Approved" and "Pending" orders?

  • Approved: The order is ready for pickup or delivery.

  • Pending: The order is still being reviewed by your Council.

Strategy & Optimization

Q: Should I put multiple Scouts at one storefront location to increase sales?

A: No. We recommend spreading your Scouts across multiple locations for the most effective way to increase sales.

While your average Sales per Shift Hour might see a slight dip when you split your team, the total revenue generated by your unit often increases significantly.

Q: The email says I'll have remaining inventory. What should I do?

A: The best way to move excess popcorn is to increase your storefront presence.

Q: I’m worried about running out of popcorn. What do I do?

A: First, verify what you have on hand. If your numbers match our projection, follow the recommendation provided by either expediting a pending delivery with your Council or placing an additional order immediately.

Q: How can I improve my "Product Sales/Shift Hr"?

A: This is how we measure storefront efficiency. If your number is lower than you'd like, consider:

  • Choosing locations with a higher storefront score.

  • Ensuring your Scouts and volunteers follow the tips in our training videos
