Why were stores booked for less hours than previous years?

Modified on Fri, 8 Aug at 1:44 PM

This year, Trail’s End made some adjustments to storefront booking to help units focus on the highest-performing hours and maximize sales success.

Focus on High-Traffic, High-Sales Hours

  • We are only booking storefront locations that have the potential to generate $300/hour or more in sales.
  • Historical data shows that early morning (8–10am) and evening (6–8pm) shifts were often unreserved or had low sales, so these times were removed from most bookings.
  • By prioritizing 10am–6pm, we’re helping units focus on the hours with the best results and the highest Scout success rates.

Easier Shift Management for Units

  • Long days can be difficult for units to fully staff, often leaving midday shifts vacant and hard to manage.
  • Shortening the schedule helps avoid gaps and ensures steady sales throughout the booked hours.

Store and Corporate Partner Preferences

  • Many store managers and corporate partners love hosting Scouts but prefer not to have us there for a full 12 hours.
  • Adjusting hours makes it easier to maintain strong relationships with our partners.

Weekday Availability

Weekday shifts vary by location. In some cases, stores didn’t meet performance benchmarks due to low evening foot traffic. In other cases, they declined weekday bookings.

Options for Additional Hours or Locations

If we don’t have a store booked that works for your unit, you are welcome to reach out directly to any store in your area that Trail’s End has not booked and add it as a Unit-Booked Store in your Leader Portal.
