Auto Release of Trail's End Reservations

Modified on Fri, 7 Feb at 1:51 PM

New StorefrontsTM Feature:

Introducing a new feature designed to improve storefront scheduling. This enhancement ensures that reserved locations are actively used while providing opportunities for units to secure selling time. It eliminates the need for leaders to manually review reservations, identify which ones won’t be used, and release them individually. This will save leaders time and reduce the risk of unused reservations.

How It Works

  • Unit Leaders Reserve Storefront Locations: Unit leaders reserve storefront locations in advance as usual, providing their Scouts with valuable selling opportunities.
  • Scouts Sign Up for Shifts: Once a storefront is reserved, Scouts can begin signing up for shifts within that reservation based on the Storefront settings established by the leader.
  • Shift Signup Reminder Emails
    • Scouts will receive email reminders about upcoming shifts, encouraging them to sign up.
    • Unit leaders will receive a notification if no Scouts are signed up for a reservation scheduled for the upcoming weekend.
  • Automatic Release of Unused Reservations
    • If no Scouts are signed up by 8:00pm ET on Thursday, any reservations for Friday, Saturday, or Sunday will be automatically released.
    • Released reservations will become available to other units, in order to maximize the use of all storefront locations.
    • Unit leaders will receive a notification if a reservation is auto-released.
  • Predictable Shift Availability for Additional Reservations
    • Unit leaders seeking to reserve more storefront locations will know exactly when to check for availability: Thursdays at 8:00pm ET

Key Benefits

  • Ensures that storefront locations are actively used by Scouts.
  • Provides a predictable system for all units to access additional storefront opportunities.
  • Keeps leaders informed with timely notifications, allowing them to take action if needed.
  • Encourages Scouts to participate by providing reminders for upcoming shifts.
  • Relieves the burden of manually releasing storefront reservations that a unit won't be using.
