Modifying Shifts for Trail’s End–Booked Reservations
When you have a reservation booked by Trail’s End, you must schedule your shifts within the reservation’s total time.
Example:
If your reservation is from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM, all shifts must fall within that timeframe.
At the time the reservation is made, the system will use your storefront default settings to create the initial shifts. See this article for details: How do I set default Storefront Settings?
Important Guidelines when modifying the shifts
- Keep the first and last shifts
- If you delete the first or last shift, you may not be able to add it back.
- Adjust shifts in order to avoid overlaps
- Example: If your current shifts are 10–12, 12–2, 2-4 and 4–6, and you want them to be 11–1, 1–3, and 3–5:
- Delete one of the middle shifts.
- Change 10–12 to 11–1.
- Change 4–6 to 3–5.
- Edit the remaining middle shift to 1–3.
- Remember: You can’t make a change that causes two shifts to overlap (e.g., changing 10–12 to 11–1 while keeping 12–2 would overlap from 12–1).
Steps to Modify Shifts
- Go to the Manage Storefronts page.
- Click the down arrow under the storefront name.
- Select Shift Management.
- Edit a shift time by clicking into the time box, selecting the new time on the clock, and clicking OK.
For Reservations made by a unit leader, the steps above are the same, however you will not have trouble with the total time constraints or deleting the first or last shift.
