What supplies should I have for Storefront sales?

Modified on Sun, 28 Jul at 2:27 PM

We recommend the following:

  • Scouts in uniform
  • Inventory to average $500 per sales hour
  • Trail's End App preloaded and updated to the latest version on your charged device
  • Table and tablecloth
  • Banner (available in the training section)
  • Small bills to make change
  • Cash box or envelope

Other things to consider that leaders and Scout parents have shared with Trail's End:

  • Square reader - not required, but makes it easy to swipe credit cards
  • Extra battery for your device
  • Personalized signs showing your Scouting adventures
  • Preferred Payments sign (available in training section or linked below)
  • Storefront Bingo or other games
  • Information packet for parents. Suggestions to include:
    • If Trail's End booked - Scheduling agreement (be sure to set up in accordance with the store specific instructions on the agreement).
    • If not Trail's End booked - contact information for the Manager you spoke with and any instructions they gave about where to setup.
    • Unit leader contact information
    • Sample sales script (available in training section or linked below)
    • Schedule for the day with contact information (in case the next shift is running late)
    • Square instructions for connecting a Bluetooth reader, if applicable
    • Rewards flyer for Scout motivation (available in training section or linked below)
    • Storefront etiquette (clean up, approaching customers, etc).

Not recommended:

  • A donation jar
  • Signs with prices
