What methods can Scouts use to accept credit cards?

Modified on Mon, 23 Jun at 5:01 PM

The Trail's End app uses Square technology. There are four ways to accept credit card payments in the app:

  • Tap to Pay - If your phone has NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, you can accept payments with Tap to Pay on your device. This allows you to accept contactless payments with credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other digital wallets. Learn more about Tap to Pay.
  • Manual Card Entry - When checking out with card, you can enter credit card information in the app to complete a payment. Learn more about checking out with manual card entry.
  • Square Reader - Square readers allow you to select card payments. Bluetooth Square readers will also accept contactless payments. Learn more about connecting a Square Reader.
  • Checkout on customer device - During checkout, you can select ‘Customer Device.’ This will share a link with the customer where they can complete their order by using Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, and credit card. Learn more about checking out on a customer device.

With any of the above options, the credit card processing fees are covered by Trail's End when using the Trail's End app.

Note: Square fees are not covered if using a Square account/Square app.
