Heroes and Helpers™

The Heroes and Helpers™ program is a meaningful way for customers to support Scouts while giving back to the community. This guide explains how the program works, how to record sales, and how rewards and commissions are earned.

Updated this week

What Is Heroes and Helpers™?

The Heroes and Helpers program allows customers to send Trail’s End popcorn and snacks to:

  • Military personnel

  • First responders

  • Food banks and community organizations

When someone donates through Heroes and Helpers, they are still supporting Scouts just like with any other product purchase.

The only difference:
Instead of shipping the product to the purchaser, Trail’s End ships it directly to a charitable organization to benefit the community.

Are Heroes and Helpers™ Purchases Tax Deductible?

We recommend consulting your tax professional for guidance on the tax deductibility of Heroes and Helpers purchases.

Here are some helpful details:

  • Approximately 70% of each purchase supports local Scouts.

  • This 70% is divided between the unit and the Council (the exact split varies by Council).

  • The remaining 30% covers the cost of the popcorn and snacks shipped to charitable organizations.

How Does a Scout Record a Heroes and Helpers™ Sale?
