How Scouts Enter a Storefront Sale in the Trail’s End App
Scouts (or parents logged into the Scout’s account) can record storefront sales in the Trail’s End app on the day of their scheduled shift.
Start the Sale
Tap Make a Sale on the app dashboard.
The app will check for an upcoming storefront shift:
If it is the time of the shift or within one hour
A popup will appear showing the storefront shift.
Tap Continue with Storefront Sale.If the shift is more than one hour away
The app will recommend a Scout (wagon) sale.
Tap Change, select the correct storefront shift, then tap Continue with Storefront Sale.
Add Products & Take Payment
Add the product(s) to the cart.
For Heroes & Helpers, tap Heroes & Helpers and enter the donation amount.
Tap the Cart button.
Choose a payment method:
Card – Enter card details using Tap to Pay, a Square reader, or manually entering the card info. (Tap to Pay and Bluetooth Square readers support Apple Pay, Google Pay, contactless cards, and chip cards).
Customer Device – Share a link or QR code for the customer to pay on their own device (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App Pay, or credit card).
Cash – Collect cash and record the sale.
Complete payment.
On the confirmation screen, you may send a receipt by text or email.
Choose New Sale or Back to Dashboard.
Ongoing Shift Behavior
One hour after a shift ends:
The app will ask if you want to continue associating sales with that storefront.Back-to-back shifts:
The app will prompt you to switch to the next shift or continue with the current one.Sales will continue to associate with the storefront until you choose to change.
Multiple Scouts Working the Same Storefront Shift
Ensure all Scouts working are signed up for the shift.
How credit is applied depends on your unit’s storefront split method:
For Shift or Day split:
It does not matter which Scout records the sale - credit will be split accordingly.For Individual split:
The Scout who records the sale receives credit. Be sure the correct Scout enters the sale.
How Unit Leaders Enter a Storefront Sale
While Scouts should enter storefront sales whenever possible, unit leaders can record cash storefront sales in the Leader Portal when needed.
Entering a Storefront Sale as a Leader
Click Manage Storefronts™ in the left-hand navigation.
Locate the correct storefront.
Click the shopping cart icon in the lower right.
Select the Scout name and shift from the dropdowns.
Enter the quantities sold for each product.
Click Record Sale.
Notes:
Leaders can enter storefront sales for past dates by navigating to the correct storefront and date.
Only leaders can enter storefront sales after the sale date.
Storefront Sales Deadline
All storefront sales for the current season must be entered by:
December 31 at 7:00 PM ET
After this time, the Manage Storefronts™ section will no longer be available, and storefront sales cannot be recorded.
