How to Refund a Storefront Sale

Refunds can be issued for storefront sales by Scouts (or parents) in the Trail’s End app or by unit leaders in the Leader Portal. Refund availability depends on who recorded the sale, the payment method, and timing.

Refunding a Storefront Sale in the Trail’s End App (Scouts & Parents)

Scouts or parents logged into the Scout’s account can refund a storefront sale on the same day it was recorded.

Steps to Refund in the App

  1. Tap Orders from the app dashboard.

  2. Find and tap the order that needs to be refunded.

  3. Tap the Options button in the upper right corner.

  4. Tap Refund Order.

  5. Confirm by tapping Yes, refund order.

The order will update to show a Refunded status.

Important Notes:

  • Storefront sales can only be refunded on the same day they were recorded.

  • If a refund is needed after that day, please contact [email protected].

Refunding a Storefront Sale in the Leader Portal (Unit Leaders)

Unit leaders can refund storefront sales through the Leader Portal, typically when Scouts are unable to do so themselves.

Steps to Refund as a Leader

  1. Click Manage Storefronts™ in the left-hand navigation.

  2. Locate the storefront where the sale occurred.

  3. Click the down arrow at the bottom of the storefront.

  4. Select View Orders.

  5. Click Refund next to the order that needs to be refunded.

Refund Limitations & Important Notes

  • Refund Window
Refunds must be processed within 24 hours of the original transaction.
If a refund is needed after 24 hours, contact [email protected].

  • Cash to Credit Impact
Once Cash to Credit™ has been used, any cash sales recorded prior to that transaction cannot be refunded.

  • Partial Refunds
Partial refunds are not supported. The entire order must be refunded.

  • Inventory Considerations
If the sale was refunded due to an item being recorded incorrectly and the payment cannot be reprocessed, an inventory adjustment may be a better option. See Understanding and Managing Unit Inventory
